Faith is a Partner at the Firm, with 24 years cross-sectoral experience in law, banking, international development and diplomacy. She is an alumnus of the University of Benin, Nigeria and the University of Wales, College of Cardiff, United Kingdom where she obtained an MBA. She was admitted to the Nigerian Bar in 1988.
Before she joined the Firm Ms. Fookes served as a Senior Program Officer at the World Intellectual Property Organization, a specialised agency of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, a specialised agency of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. Her main areas of responsibility were the protection of copyright and related rights. Her special focus areas were valorising intellectual property in business and music rights and royalties management, this led to advising national governments on the best legal regimes for their specific intellectual property needs and running training programmes for owners and users of rights in Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.
She has extensive experience in commercial, banking and finance transactions garnered while working in Private Banking both in Lagos, Nigeria and the United Kingdom, as her experience was garnered across three financial institutions from 1989 to 1996 where she attained two major managerial positions. She would be handling the firm’s intellectual property division, the Banking and Finance practice as well as managing the firms cross border relationships and transactions.
