I. REVIEW OF THE GUIDELINES FOR THE INSPECTION OF SOLAR MINI-GRIDS IN NIGERIA
Due to the exponential growth in installation and construction activities in the Solar Energy sector, as well as the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry (NESI), it became paramount for a standardized manual/guidelines that would ensure the required safety, stability, standardization and unification in the development of Solar Mini-grids in Nigeria to be developed.
Based on the foregoing, and in line with national and international best practice, the Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) approved and launched the “Guidelines for the Inspection of Solar mini-grids in Nigeria”. The manual will serve as the benchmark for the Agency’s Inspecting Engineers and Technical Officers in the execution of the agency’s mandate/functions of enforcement of technical standards and regulations, technical inspection, testing and certification of all categories of electrical installations and systems in the Solar Mini-grid subsector.
