Ivie Ehanmo has been admitted to Partnership in the firm.
Ivie is a specialist in the energy sector with over 10 year experience, particularly in the gas and power sector where she has been involved in a wide array of complex transactions for multiple clients across the value chain from the inception of the privatisation process of the Nigerian electricity industry. She is also a Legal and Regulatory Consultant for Energy Market and Regulatory Consultants (EMRC) (formerly Mercados EMI), a specialist consultancy firm focused on energy markets, regulation, transactions and commercial issues. Prior to specialist consulting, she joined GEP in 2008 and dedicated over 7 years of invaluable experience. Ivie also has significant experience across the oil and gas sector, aviation sector and capital/infrastructure projects. Ivie is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and has been involved in resolving complex disputes amongst key players and stakeholders in the energy industry. An aspiring PhD candidate, Ivie hopes to develop legal, institutional and regulatory framework(s) to stimulate investments in energy infrastructure in Sub-Saharan Africa whilst addressing the legal bottlenecks from a dispute resolution standpoint.
Ivie also has vast experience in Commercial Law Transactions, Due Diligence and Transaction Advisory, Mergers and Acquisitions, Project Finance and PPP Transactions. She will be heading the firm’s Energy and Infrastructure Projects divisions.
